A lot of the fruit & vegetables used for Little Acre products & ingredients for our preserves are grown by ourselves, on an acre of farm land in the Chudleigh area of Teignbridge, Devon. Our home base however, remains in Ipplepen, Newton Abbot, where the very small batches of preserves are made. Otherwise we do our best to buy ingredients from growers & suppliers who use organic methods. We are members of Food & Drink Devon Love the Flavour

Our Hessian topped jars of preserves are now easier for you to identify. Red for Jam, Blue for Marmalade & Green for Chutney & Black for pickles. We assure you we will continue to grow our produce without the use of any chemicals or pesticides whatsoever. We use UK granulated Beet Sugar for our marmalades & Fair Trade Brown Sugar for our chutneys. We have found it necessary to use good quality Jam Sugar this season for our jams due to our terrible wet weather this summer which has affected the pectin in the soft fruit. Vinegar is locally made with the exception of wine vinegar which is always organic.

Due to an overall increase in demand for our products we regret we have found it necessary to remove some of the more time consuming, or costly to make, items from our range. We apologise to those of you who may be disappointed. However, we do invite you to pre-order some new additional items which are only available for Christmas!

The Buckfastleigh shop, is to be simply called The Four O’clock Shop but alongside our own home made range of preserves we will also sell Diabetic Jams, old fashioned, but sugar free & gluten free sweets;.
The shop will also be an outlet for our own home grown seasonal vegetables and a few home made prepared & other chilled foods.

Our hope is to encourage local people who also grow their own vegetables to sell some of the excess vegetables to us in order that we may sell them on to other Buckfastleigh folk thereby doing a little bit to help the environment. We intend to set up a children’s only Seed Exchange; they will be encouraged to bring along a packet of unwanted seeds and exchange them for a packet of seeds they want and intend to grow themselves. We then hope they might bring some of their produce back to our shop so we can display their success.
